SUMMARY:Field Leaders Contingency Planning Workshop | Cape Town\, South Africa | August 2024
DESCRIPTION:LOCATION AND DATE \nCrisis Consulting International will present a 2-day Field Leaders Contingency Planning Workshop on 28-29 August 2024 in Cape Town\, South Africa. The exact location and other details will be provided upon successful registration. Lunch will be provided. \nOVERVIEW \nThe Field Leaders Contingency Planning Workshop (CPW) is designed for field-based leaders who are responsible for or have oversight of operations\, projects\, teams\, and/or ministry work within a particular region. As a field or regional leader\, you not only have a duty of care responsibility over those you lead on behalf of your organization\, but you are also called to be good stewards of that which God has entrusted to you. Such stewardship certainly includes the ministry work you carry out\, but most importantly it includes the people you oversee. As such\, what are key considerations for you as a leader in the areas of duty of care and stewardship? The CPW is designed to bring these considerations into focus and to provide you with tools and skills to ensure you are better prepared to address these. \nTOPICS and DISCUSSION AREAS \nThe CPW is a highly interactive\, discussion-oriented workshop. Case studies\, tabletop exercises (based on both real and fictional events)\, and group discussion are used heavily. Topics for discussion include: What is your role as a leader? What falls outside your scope of responsibility? How do you factor in risk when leading\, assigning\, or overseeing a ministry project or trip? How do you effectively conduct a risk vs. benefit analysis? How do you access and assess multiple and various sources of information? How do you make decisions with incomplete information? How do you prepare contingency and emergency plans for projects\, trips\, and other work? How do you carry out emergency notifications and communications? How do you decide what information should be shared with different constituents (family\, coworkers\, governments\, ministry partners\, organizational leaders) for various events? What are some common gaps and pitfalls in contingency planning? How do you lead through high impact events like bombings\, threats\, attacks\, kidnappings\, and government detentions and interrogations? \nWHO SHOULD ATTEND \nThis workshop is designed for anyone who has a leadership role — formal or informal — over teams\, projects\, and/or ministry work within a particular region. While some elements of this course deal with topics covered in CCI’s Crisis Management Seminar (for senior leaders) and Field Security Seminar (for field workers)\, the Contingency Planning Workshop is uniquely created for “mid-level” or field leaders. This course is also beneficial for trip leaders\, team leaders\, and those assigned over field work but based at headquarters. \nCOST and DETAILS \nThe cost for this workshop will be calculated in ZAR (South African Rand) and converted to USD ($) as needed. As such\, please contact us at training@cricon.org to inquire about your situation so we may discuss your cost. \nTravel and lodging\, if applicable\, are each participant’s responsibility.  \n** The course is currently in pre-enrollment mode. Payment and official registration will be opened up once sufficient enrollments are reached. You may use this form to pre-enroll to reserve your seat and notify us of your interest in attending. **

SUMMARY:Contingency Planning Workshop | Tbilisi\, Georgia | October 2025
DESCRIPTION:Crisis Consulting International will present a Field Leaders Contingency Planning Workshop on 15 October 2025 in Tbilisi\, Republic of Georgia. Field leaders not only have a duty of care responsibility over those they lead on behalf of their organization\, but are also called to be good stewards\, to plan\, assess risk\, and make informed decisions. The CPW is designed to bring these considerations into focus and to provide leaders with tools and skills to ensure they are better prepared to carry out these roles. \nTOPICS and DISCUSSION AREAS \nThe CPW is an interactive\, discussion-oriented workshop. Case studies\, tabletop scenarios and discussions\, and group discussion are incorporated into the workshop. Topics for discussion include: What is one’s role as a leader? What falls outside one’s scope of responsibility? How does a leader factor in risk when leading\, assigning\, or overseeing a ministry project or trip? How does one effectively incorporate a risk analysis into contingency planning? How does a leader attain and assess multiple and various sources of information? How does one make decisions with incomplete information? How does a leader prepare contingency and emergency plans for projects\, trips\, and other work? What are some common gaps and pitfalls in contingency planning? \nWHO SHOULD ATTEND \nThis workshop is designed for anyone who has a leadership role — formal or informal — over teams\, projects\, and/or ministry work within a particular region. While some elements of this course deal with topics covered in CCI’s Crisis Management Seminar (for senior leaders) and Field Security Seminar (for field workers)\, the Contingency Planning Workshop is uniquely created for “mid-level” or field leaders. This course is also beneficial for trip leaders\, team leaders\, and those assigned over field work but based at headquarters. \nCOST and DETAILS \nThe cost for this workshop is $195 US. A discount will be offered for multiple persons attending from the same organization. Participants may use the below link to register for multiple CCI workshops being offered on 13-15 October 2025. \nTravel and lodging\, if applicable\, are each participant’s responsibility.
