SUMMARY:Field Security Seminar | Union Mills\, NC | June 2024
DESCRIPTION:CCI will hold a Field Security Seminar (FSS) on June 28-July 1\, 2024. The training location is in Union Mills\, NC at the Center for Intercultural Training (CIT). \nCOURSE AND OVERVIEW \nhe FSS is a field-oriented training for faith-based\, international workers operating in higher risk environments. Participants will learn about managing surveillance\, maintaining situational and environmental awareness\, surviving violent encounters and coordinated attacks\, and landmines and IEDs. In addition\, participants will learn to manage interrogations\, survive hostage events\, leadership in emergencies\, how to manage carjacking events\, and learn the essentials of vehicle security (convoys; checkpoints; ambushes). A discussion of terrorism as it relates to faith-based workers is included. \nThe FSS is presented by experienced global security professionals who are mature believers. The seminar begins with and is infused with a theology of risk. \nThe tuition for the FSS is $850 per student. This fee includes refreshments and course materials but excludes lodging and meals. Participants from the same organization may take a $45 discount (all may take discount). \nLODGING\, MEALS\, AND TRANSPORTATION \nLodging and meals for the seminar will be provided by the host\, CIT. Upon approval to attend\, you will be provided a link with which to reserve housing and\, if desired\, airport transport. \nThere are three airports within 60-90 minutes of the Center: Charlotte (CLT)\, Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP)\, and Asheville (AVL). \nImportant note: the seminar will conclude around 4:30 PM on Monday. The drive time to these airports is up to 1.5 hours. Thus\, any Monday evening flights should be booked for after 7:30 PM. Otherwise\, you should plan to stay at the Center on Monday night or reserve a hotel near your airport. \nCOURSE SCHEDULE \nThe seminar starts with an orientation dinner at 5:30 p.m. at Friday. The following three days are full days\, ending no earlier than 4:30 PM on Monday. The seminar has an aggressive schedule including outdoor exercises designed to reinforce classroom instruction. The schedule may involve evening sessions. \nSEATING \nThe FSS is limited to 21 participants. DESCRIPTION:CCI is pleased to offer an open Crisis Management Seminar (CMS) in Auburn\, Alabama\, USA (90 minutes from Atlanta) on July 15-17\, 2024 at Lakeview Baptist Church. \nABOUT \nThe CMS is a 3-day leadership-oriented course which provides participants with the knowledge\, skills\, and abilities to develop a competent security and crisis management program. Participants will be trained and prepared to serve on a crisis management team in the most complex and critical events. Core components of the training include risk assessment (including the use of EZRA*\, a proprietary risk assessment software provided to participants)\, developing appropriate policies and contingency planning\, forming and leading crisis management teams\, and using a crisis resolution protocol to guide response to emergencies. Case studies and tabletop exercises are used extensively. \n*EZRA is a Microsoft Access-based tool. It is only compatible on Mac in conjunction with programs such as VMWare or Parallels. EZRA will work on any PC laptop with or without MS Access (a Runtime version of Access may be downloaded for non-Access installed machines). \nCOST AND DETAILS \nThe price for the CMS is $650 per student. Seminar fee discounts are available for the following: 1) more than one person attending from the same organization (both may take discount) ($45); 2) if you also attend CCI’s 1-day Short Term Trip Leaders Security Workshop on July 18\, 2024 at the same location ($45); 3) if you have previously attended CCI’s CMS\, you may take the alumni refresher discount ($325 – subject to verification). \nThe CMS consists of three (3) 8-hour days. Exact details regarding start time\, what to bring\, room location\, etc.\, will be communicated upon registration.
