CCI will hold a Field Security Seminar (FSS)—also called HEAT—in Nairobi, Kenya on August 6-8, 2026. The exact training location and other details will be communicated upon successful enrollment.
COURSE AND OVERVIEW
The FSS is a field-oriented training for faith-based, international workers operating in higher risk environments. Participants will learn about managing surveillance, maintaining situational and environmental awareness, surviving violent encounters and coordinated attacks, and landmines and IEDs. In addition, participants will learn to manage interrogations, survive hostage events, leadership in emergencies, how to manage carjacking events, and learn the essentials of vehicle security (convoys; checkpoints; ambushes). A discussion of terrorism as it relates to faith-based workers is included.
The FSS is presented by experienced global security professionals who are mature believers. The seminar begins with and is infused with a theology of risk.
The tuition for the FSS is $550 US per student. This fee includes refreshments and course materials and lunch. Participants from the same organization may take a $45 discount (all may take discount).
LODGING, MEALS, AND TRANSPORTATION
Some onsite lodging will be available at the participant’s expense (details to be provided upon enrollment). Transportation as well as meals other than lunch are each participant’s responsibility.
COURSE SCHEDULE
The course consists of three full days, starting around 8:30 a.m. and ending around 5:00 p.m. each day. The seminar involves outdoor exercises designed to reinforce classroom instruction.
